Edward Manny has been a Rensselaer County Legislator since 2010, representing residents of the City of Troy (District One).
“The citizens of Troy and Rensselaer County deserve a legislator who will serve the needs of our community and not themselves,” said Manny.
Ed has been a lifelong resident of Troy, a graduate of St. Augustine’s School and Catholic Central High School, Class of 1969. He has been married to Martha (Grady) for 44 years, and they have three children and seven grandchildren.
Ed retired from the Troy Fire Department after 28 years of dedicated service and is a current member of the Troy Retired Firefighters Association and President of the Troy Flag Day Parade Committee, having served as a member and a past president for 37 years.
As Deputy Minority Leader, Ed serves on the Judiciary and Public Safety Committee, the Rules and Legislative Operations Committee and sits in on all meetings of the Budget and Finance Committee.
Ed is the Vice Chairman of the Soil and Water Conservation Board and a past member of the Environmental Committee.
